Sanwo-Olu declared winner of Lagos Guber Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Lagos state gubernatorial election, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been declared winner of the polls.

According to Premium Times, Sanwo-olu defeated his closest rival, Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with a wide margin of 533,304 votes.

INEC State Returning Officer, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede declared Sanwo-Olu winner having polled 739, 445 votes, winning all local governments in the process, while Agbaje polled  206,141 votes.

Sanwo-Olu, writing on his Instagram, said Agbaje has called him to congratulate him on his victory. He said:

I received with all sense of appreciation and humility, the symbolic congratulatory call Mr. Jimi Agbaje just made to me on my victory in the just concluded Governorship election in Lagos State. This demonstration of sportsmanship is highly commendable, and an indication of the politics of love and brotherhood that drives development in Lagos State. #foragreaterlagos
