Our insecurity and our culpability by Sabo Douglas Garba

The Kidnapping, Killings and Banditry happening has no tribe, region or religion. It is pure criminality. Do your bit and provide a hint on who is involved as even you are not safe from them.

If the one in your house calls you family and won’t hurt you, the one from another family you don’t know, another area or another state may hurt you.

It Started in Plateau, and Southern Kaduna and some people celebrated thinking someone is now fighting their Jihad, It is happening in Birnin Gwari and Chikun and some other irresponsible people are saying ehen make them taste am too.

The father of it all is now Zamfara, Kajuru and part of Abuja express way.

The people carrying out these attacks or their sponsors might be amongst us, some people nay know them and are hiding them, some people are keeping their secrets.

The best you can do for your community or our dear state and Nation is to see something and say something.

You can be writing or he giving anonymous tips in secret if you are in fear of being exposed or being attacked by the evil men.

The Police and soldiers sent to your community can only rely on genuine information given by you to carry out their job effectively. In a situation where you keep numb, give the criminals a cover and allow the security to work alone, then be rest assured that the failure of their operation is not the failure of anybody but that of your community, as one day they may be taken away and your community is left behind with its bad eggs.

If these bad eggs do not harm you today, their breed may harm your children or grandchildren tomorrow. For the love of God and our country, do well and do your part in bringing this menace to an end. Blabbing, insults and blame game will not stop it.

Remember the contribution of the Hunters in the North East. Form genuine vigilance groups, embrace community policing in partnership with relevant Agencies and see this trouble come down on its feet.

Verily I say unto us that unless we change our approach on issues, we will not move ahead. Unless we see this as a wild fire that is bent on destroying us all, we will be in for a serious surprise. I have said my piece, please do your bit.
