The Bureau of ICT Nasarawa State Collaborates with SkyHub Nigeria to Train Civil Servants in Financial and Digital Literacy

The Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Alhaji Sule who recently won the Award of the Digital Governor of the Year has set a goal to digitize the whole state by 2023.

In the bid to achieve this, the Bureau of ICT Nasarawa State collaborated with SkyHub Nigeria to train the civil servants on financial and digital literacy.

The event which was hosted on the 2nd of June 2022 was graced by the Head of Civil Service (HoS) Mr Nicholas Abari, represented by the Director of Training and Pension, Kasuwa Abari stated that the training was in line with the commitment of the state government to reposition the civil service for optimal performance and productivity.

The Director-General of the Nasarawa State Bureau of ICT, Shehu Ibrahim emphasized the workshop was organized to equip participants with the necessary skills to meet up with the global challenges in their respective job duties. He further said the bureau has trained over 16,000 people since its establishment in 2018.

The co-founder and chief operations officer, SkyHub Nigeria, Solomon Yateghtegh said “The objectives of the training is to ensure the participants possess the skills needed to earn and work in a society where communication and access to information are increasingly through digital technologies like internet platforms, social media, and mobile devices.

Habiba Balarabe Suleiman, SSA and Focal Person on Human Capital Development to the Governor also encouraged the participants not to take for granted all they were taught.

The Bureau of ICT reiterated its commitment to upskilling its workforce in positioning Nasawara State as a leading ICT state in the country.
