The rising cases of kidnapping in plateau residence call for government intervention.

As they are in a helpless situation and government  to support various security agencies with vehicles, and fuels to help in tackling the high raise in kidnapping and insecurity in the state, some of the victims of kidnapping who talked  about their experiences shows government total negligence and Lalongs failure in tackling the security situation in the state recently the residence of Lamingo suffered high rate if kidnapping in the area and if not for the intervention of the STF that mounted some check points across the area kidnapping was almost  a daily activities,  and  in the case of kidnapping and other related crimes, sourcenews.24 in an interactions and on the spot assessment  with some of the victims gathered that some of the problems the security agencies are  facing is lack of  fuels and vehicles and support from the government and logistics  some of the security agencies are handicap in some of their duties and can not response to any distress and emergency calls and is the duty of the governor to ensure the safety of his citizens and look for solution to the high rate of kidnapping in the state and other related crimes, plateau state is not known for kidnapping but due to the inactive way the government is tackling the insecurity in the state gave way to this and the government and mostly the governor need to seat up and raise up to his responsibilities.

This medium also gathered that the reason Benue state is succeeding in the fight against kidnapping and insecurity in the state is because government pay attention to all the security agencies and also put them on their feet to fight crimes by motivating them financially and providing enough vehicles and money for fueling and also empower also encourage community policing and intelligent gathering and always put them in check and provide them the necessary support the need to operate but the case of plateau is different, plateau state have operation rainbow which was formed by the past administration of Jonah David Jang the immediate past governor of the state, the state have the structure but what is the government doing about it.

One of the victim of the recent kidnapping in Dong area of josnorth whose name is withheld by this medium spoke to our reporter said the kidnapping attempt on him was 3 times and it was the third time that he was caught and paid the ransom but what surprises  him most is how severally he has complained about the kidnapping attempt to government and the security agencies and he was given a distress number to call each time their was an attack but unfortunately each time he call is one complain or the other no vehicle or no fuel, what is a vehicle that the government can afford what is the governor doing with tax payers money to him the governor should stop saying there is peace in the state when some of them can not sleep peacefully in their houses due to fair of not being kidnap, according to him when the situation got worse  his  friend advise him to report to the operation safe haven which he did and they game him a number to call when in distress  and when the second attempt was made by the kidnappers he call the other security agencies still the same complain so he decided to call operation safe haven the STF  and before you know it they where there based on the description he gave them and when the kidnappers show them the ran to the bush  and they men of the operation safe haven chase them and fire some shots but the couldn’t   get them that was how he was safe and the third time which they got him he said the kidnappers where in his house for over an hour and he try calling the operation safe haven The STF but the  once close to jos wild life park where on another emergency and the once around zaria road where contacted but before they arrive  the kidnappers  use digger to brake the bullet proof door  and took him away and when finally the STF came they have already taken him away.

And speaking to some people at the community who also witness the incidence also complain about the  way the governor is behaving about the kidnapping issues in the state and from their own understanding most of the security agencies are handicap because most of them don’t have enough vehicle to tackle most of the emergencies and distress calls they receive because of lack of fuel or vehicles and other logistics and if not for the help of the operation safe haven the STF the insecurity in the state will be very high than this he said and the governor is not helping  matter and also why can the governor provide the security agencies and the neighbourhood watch vehicle and fuels to help in tackling crimes and intelligent gathering and prompt response before the security agencies arrive at any emergency and also why can the government provide CCTV cameras  as they did during the civid-19 and also encourage the neighbourhood watch and community policing and also mount cameras that can checkmate most of the activities of the criminals and the kidnappers and also mount checkpoints across all the areas that kidnapping and criminal activities is taking place across the state and the government should continue to engage relevant stakeholders to monitor the inflow of people coming in to the state and outside the state and check their activities and know what they do for a leaving he said.
