Plateau State Extends Lockdown To 23rd of April, 2020 with 4 Days Break

Plateau State Governor,  Simon Bako Lalong has extended the total lockdown till Thursday 23rd April but giving a 4 days window till Sunday for citizens to restock food.

Plateau State Governor Rt. Hon. (Dr) Simon Bako Lalong made this known in a statewide address on the COVID-19 total lockdown which expired by 11 pm today, 15th of April, 2020 by 5 pm.

Recall that the Plateau State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong on issued a 7day lockdown which started with a statewide Fumigation Exercise on Friday 10th of April, 2020.  The total lockdown for 7days which ends today Wednesday 15th April by 11:00 pm.

Governor Lalong in issuing the state lockdown said Plateau was using the opportunity to fumigate the entire 17 local government in the state.
Governor Lalong speaking at the statewide broadcast further commended all citizens for putting efforts in ensuring that the lockdown was effective also appreciating the security agencies.1242 persons were caught to have defaulted in the total lockdown and despite that, the state fumigation exercise was a success.
He said the government was not resting on the fight against COVID-19 as such the need to extend the total lockdown to 23rd April 2020 as to meet the stipulated 14days lockdown. However, the lockdown starting from Thursday 15th of April, 2020 by 11 pm will give room for essential service providers and food shops and markets for people to restock food up until Sunday 19th of April, 2020.

And also the immediate distribution of palliatives in the state.
