‘Malika’ The First Ever Animation Film In Nigeria

Ace Director, Niyi Akinmolayan, the mastermind behind the family romantic comedy The Wedding Party 2, the infamous romantic drama, Chief Daddy and a host of other high budget films has taken the entertainment and film industry by storm with the first-ever animation movie, Malik: The Warrior Queen.

Nollywood, the 3rd biggest film industry in the world has been ridiculed over the years for not being able to produce an animation that comes even close to what is obtainable in Hollywood or Bollywood. But Niyi has proved them wrong.

The veteran director who has been accredited with masterpieces such as The Set-Up, Chief Daddy, The Wedding Party 2, The Arbitration, Out of Luck, Falling, took to his Twitter handle to shock Nollywood and the world with Malik.

He announced the arrival of Malik and posted the Trailer which has already garnered thousands of views.

He twitted: “I present to you the long-awaited trailer for Malika, Warrior Queen. I don’t need to tell you how much time and dedication went into making this film. It’s been one of the most challenging projects we’ve ever attempted as a studio. Hope you love it as much as we enjoyed making it.” The Anthill Studio owner twitted.

Meanwhile, film lovers across the country have flooded Niyi’s twitter handle to shower him with choruses and congratulations have been the order of the day.

A twitter user, Kola Ibrahim praised the film as topnotch.

“This is top-notch. I cannot begin to imagine the endless stress and hours upon hours of reléntless work done modelling and animating… You have done spectacularly well. Where do we buy?” He said.

While another user, Oladipo Omoware said that it “Feels wonderful to be looking forward to a Nigerian animated film. I’m genuinely thrilled. Oyinbo content (DC, Marvel, and Animes) cannot claim monopoly to my goose pimples anymore.”

However, one of the commenters, Shamash, tasked the marketers to utilize every tool available to get the film to as much audience as possible.

“Burst my brain! The marketers and distributors should do an excellent job, please. This anime deserves a breakthrough in the box office.” Shamash said.

Also, another excited movie fan known as J.O.T twitted, “Finally!! We’ve long awaited something like this. This is epic 🔥🔥🔥. Can’t wait to see this. And a big kudos to all those whose little bits made up this amazing project. A Nigerian animation? I’m having goosebumps”

Meanwhile, although Niyi and his team have not announced the release date of the blockbuster anime, it is obvious to all that this is the future we have all been waiting for.
