Meghan’s mom “overjoyed” at royal baby’s birth

Relatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are sharing their well-wishes after confirmation that the pair have become parents for the first time.

Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, is “overjoyed” at becoming a grandmother, Buckingham Palace has revealed on Twitter. She is at Frogmore Cottage where her daughter and son-in-law reside.

The Queen, Prince Philip, Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Harry’s brother William and his wife Catherine have also been told of the newborn’s birth. Additionally, members of Princess Diana’s family have been informed.

The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.

The Duchess’s mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore Cottage.
Her Royal Highness and the baby are both doing well.

In announcing the birth of his son on Monday, Prince Harry also told the media of his joy at becoming a dad for the first time.

I haven’t been in many births, this is definitely my first birth! But it was amazing, absolutely incredible, and as I said, I’m so incredibly proud of my wife. As every father and parent would say, your baby is absolutely amazing. But this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon.”
