I would narrate my entire ordeal today. Everything I write, I was not told and it wasn’t narrated to me. I saw with my own eyes and heard with my ears all. This is not intended to raise more chaos but to inform people as to how bad things have become. Thank you.

Since around 1am this morning there has been series of Gunshots along the Rikkos-Tina-DutseUkwu-Nassarawa axis, the intervals at best has been 7 minutes

This is a religious crisis between Muslims (Hausa-Fulani extract) against Christians (Indigenous Plateau People and Settlers).

his crisis got heated when some Muslim Youths attacked a Church yesterday around 11 and attempted to burn it with the Worshippers at Angwan Miango, in Rikkos. It took the intervention of other Christians around to chase them away and ensure the Church is standing.

From there, Soldiers arrived and started shooting in a bid for it not to escalate but then the Soldiers shot at Christians of which casualties are piling. This angered the Christians and thus, the entire polity heated.

This morning I cannot say for real who was shooting at who but the tension came with the gunshots. At about 8am, Mobile Police Officers came around and there was calm till about 10am, after which they were withdrawn. After which the trouble continued.

Houses started burning on both sides, properties worth millions were set ablaze with both sides working so hard to stop the fires.

When the smoke arose, soldiers came around and continued their business of shooting.

One of the Mopol Officers that was withdrawn came back home and informed us that the Soldiers have been ordered to protect the minority (Hausa Muslims) at all cost, and the mopol that acted in the morning were all being disciplined and their guns have been seized.

Military helux, Desert Bikes and Armoured tanks (armoured fighting vehicle AFV) came in around 1pm, with ammunition and distributed it to the so-called minority.

After which, they came around and arrested Christian Youths, if you’re holding anything eg a stick, they might shoot you or arrest you.

This exercise continued up till 4pm, and there was a bit quiet. At about 4:30pm, we saw smoke rising from Christian houses behind St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Nassarawa. Christians rushed backed only to find Soldiers sending them back and setting up road blocks.

The Christians whom houses were burnt ran back to Tina and Furaka axis, looking for a place to hide and stay. They informed us, that they were advised to leave their area by soldiers, only for them to leave and on their way, see their houses ablaze.

Till this moment that I write, we are digging graves to bury men killed by Nigerian Soldiers. This is an assisted crises, the Nigerian military is bias because to the best of our knowledge they have been compromised and bought over.

This is an incidence that repeats itself since 2008 crises till present. We may not have facts to prove but we must say, the Nigerian Military has failed us.

They now join to fight for the highest bidder.

Finally, we would not sleep in our houses tonight as we did last night, we would have to sleep on our mountain tops and by our churches and we do knowing that the Lord is with us to protect us.
