Nicki Minaj Reportedly Prevented Future from Working with Cardi B on ‘Drip’

Apparently, this beef really is just as petty as it was believed to be. If you listen to the official version of “Drip” by Cardi B, you’ll hear a feature spot allotted to the Migos. However, the track wasn’t always supposed to feature the Atlanta trio, it seems. According to new reports, the Invasion of Privacy single initially had Futureas a guest. Apparently, there’s a reference track proving that fact. The reason we didn’t actually receive the original version with Hendrix remains a mystery, but it’s being rumored that Nicki Minaj actually offered the man an ultimatum: take yourself off the song or you’re no longer welcome on tour.

Page Six reports that Jason Lee from Hollywood Unlocked has the inside scoop, claiming that Nicki actually prohibited Future from staying on the track. This would tie into Cardi’s claims that her rival is “hating behind-the-scenes” and holding people back. Lee says that Migos were not supposed to be on the song – it was simply a collaboration between Cardi and Future. Cardi, Future, and Nicki have not commented on the matter yet.

Future was scheduled to be co-headlining the NICKIHNDRXX Tour, which has since been postponed to begin next year.

Of course, this isn’t the first time people have accused Nicki of trying to stop their bags. Remy Ma has made similar claims in the past. A version of “Drip” with Future has since leaked on Twitter, offering some evidence to Lee’s remarks.
