NUC budgets N8m for Research, N85m for Vehicles

The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) in its 2018 budget has earmarked N8 million for research and development, Punch reports.

In a copy of the 2018 budget proposal perused by Punch, it was revealed that N85,351,433 was budgeted for the “purchase of motor vehicles.”

Also in the budget was salaries of N1,434,223,306; N3,357,885 for maintenance of office furniture; and N60,075,664 for maintenance of office buildings and residential quarters.

N9,739,246 was also budgeted for the maintenance of generators at the secretariat.

The total expenditure budgeted for the year 2018 amounted to N4,122,549,530.
