Wizkid Is Now Legend Like It Or Not

There’s no other way to say it, Starboy shut down London last night. What’s the definition of shut down? Being the first African to sell out the Royal Albert Hall, that’s what.

Since Wizkid’s performance last night, Twitter has been chirping away in exhilaration. As usual, the Wizkid army says he’s overtaken Fela as a legend. Hold on while I put on my blank face.

Silly arguments on TwitterNG aside, Wizkid definitely gave his fans a night to remember- and we commemorate that with this thread.

See below:

Wizkid on the Map!

Not sure Royal Albert ever had these number of Black people in this hall, when I come here for BBC symphony orchestra,it is always white

I really bought the wrong seats at @wizkidayo‘s concert because I should’ve been the one on that stage

Wizkid’s band from Lagos is solid!

Yesterday was Amazingggg ! @wizkidayo has Too Many Hits ! Too Many Classics !! Only 1 Starboy

Now that I have recovered @wizkidayo last night was too special

And when he brought out Wande Coal

My soul was feeling everything

Wow, a night I’ll never forget History was made YESTERDAY Your da plug @wizkidayo
I LOVE YOU!!

Over 5k tickets sold!
Performed with a band with no backup singers!
It was not just a gathering of Africans living in the U.K!@wizkidayo

Let’s talk Ojuelegba

It’s very obvious that Wizkid’s favorite song is “Ojuelegba”. Maybe because the song pushed him to the international sphere

Wande Coal

Shoutout to @wizkidayo for bringing me out yesterday. Royal Albert Hall was proper lit. Thank you London for making it a great show.

L.E.G.E.N.D

Prayer still works!! Congratulation @wizkidayo This is just the beginning! Legend in the making Keep creating and breaking records

Fam when you listen to how many hit songs wizkid has performed on that stage for more than 2 hours now nonstop. Don’t ever compare him.

The word is out..it is final..and we are convinced..Wizkid @wizkidayo is officially an AFRICAN LEGEND

I’ve said it before, Wizkid and Olamide are the only Naija acts that’ll perform for 5hrs without running out of songs.

Not Wizkid’s mate

Ojuelegba which was the turning point for wizkid was recorded under EME.

But lets downplay the influence of Banky W.

Fela had an international record deal in the 70s o
Talking Universal and Co.
No one is undermining Wizkid but abeg dont compare him to fela

People dont even know the Yeah Yeah Wizkid tells his crowd to say was from Fela. Lol.

There are some things you just don’t do , ever.

Comparing Wizkid to Fela is one of them.

What a ride

Shoutout to @wizkidayo for bringing me out yesterday. Royal Albert Hall was proper lit. Thank you London for making it a great show.

From Mushin to Mo’Hits to drama to hiatus to comeback to Royal Alberta Hall!!!

Nobody coulda scripted it beta!

Wizkid sells out London’s most iconic venue. Tiwa on BBC Top 100 Women. Okocha voted as the greatest player in Reebok/Macron Stadium.
