Henceforth, newly recruited police constables are to be posted to their states of origin, the Inspector General of Police (IG) Ibrahim Idris disclosed in Minna, Niger State Friday.

Idris said apart from posting the recruits to their states of origin, majority of them would also be deployed in their local government areas.

The IG made these facts known during the passing out of police recruits at the police college in the Niger State capital

The IG, who was represented by the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Finance and Administration, Alhaji Shuaibu Lawal, said the new posting policy was to give vent to the new “community policing policy”.

To show the seriousness of the force to the new policy, only four out of the 464 policemen that passed out were retained in Minna with two each posted to the ICT and police training schools respectively.
