PDP chapter in Adamawa state says they are working hard to bring back former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, into their fold. The Adamawa State chairman of the party, Abdurrahman Bobboi, disclosed this at a press conference in Yola the state capital yesterday July 24th. Recall that Atiku defected from PDP to APC in February 2014. His attempt to contest for presidency on the platform of the ruling party failed.

The Adamawa state PDP chairman told newsmen yesterday that the PDP national hierarchy and the state chapter are making a concerted effort to convince the former vice president and other founding fathers, who left the party to return.

“The former vice president was a founding member, was vice president under the PDP and he is resourceful. He has acquired vast experience and should not be abandoned. They’re working hard at the center and we are doing same here in his home state,” he said

According to Bobboi, APC has refused to allow Atiku with his vast knowledge help them find solutions to the challenges plaguing the country

“APC is not tapping his experience; we that know his resourcefulness will not give him breathing space until he returns,” he stated.

Bobboi further announced that a reconciliation committee  had been formed at the state level and  would be headed by former Governor Boni Haruna to  bring aggrieved members back to the party.
