Iyanya and Don Jazzy are presently in New York, US, carrying out discussions that will “hopefully seal” the partnership between the Nigerian record label and Roc Nation.

An insider revealed to TheCable Lifestyle that executives of Roc Nation are so keen on working with Mavin Records and more Nigerian artistes that “they may be coming to Nigeria sometime next month.”

Mavin singer, Tiwa Savage, is already signed to Roc Nation and Iyanya Mbuk, who joined Mavin in October 2016, is expected to have a similar deal in no time.

TheCable Lifestyle reached out to Temple Management, representatives of Mavin, for comments on the new development but little was revealed.

Femi Salawu, media executive, Temple Management, in a rather vague statement, hinted that Mavin could be going into “strategic international partnerships.”

Although the statement never mentioned Roc Nation, it is believed that one of such partnerships is the one currently being facilitated in New York.

“The Temple Management Company and Mavin Records are focused on building bridges globally for the benefit of our talents.

“Both Companies’ primary objective is to continually maximise the opportunities in the African continent as well as explore and develop new frontiers across the globe.

“Strategic international partnerships are key in achieving these objectives aimed at raising the profile of Mavin’s talents and our other talents.

“As the world is a global village, we are positioned as global players in the industry in bridging all divides globally. We can’t divulge more than this at this point,” the statement said.

Another insider disclosed that Mavin could also forge a form of partnership with VP Records, one of the biggest reggae record labels around.

While in New York, Iyanya also visited the record label, presumably alongside Don Jazzy.

VP Records shared a picture of the singer on its Instagram page on Tuesday, with the caption, “Nigeria inna di building. Bless up @iyanya for passion’ thru to show some love. Respect.”
